What Software Do I Need?

From BUG Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

We support Linux, OS X, and Windows for BUG Application development through our SDK. For Kernel, Root Filesystem development, and C/C++ development, you must use Linux.

Do I need to download Dragonfly, the BUG SDK?

If you would like to:

  • Interact with your BUG through your PC
  • Download community applications to your BUG
  • Look at or modify the source code of community applications
  • Write your own Java applications for the BUG
  • Share your Java applications with the BUG Community

then we recommend installing the SDK.

To download the SDK to your computer and get installation instructions, go to the Dragonfly page.

Do I need the BUG Linux Kernel or Root Filesystem?

If you are not sure or if you are not familiar with Linux, then you most likely do not need these files. To install a new Kernel or Root Filesystem on the BUG, you MUST have sudoer privileges on a Linux machine and be familiar with using the Linux command line. If you would like to update your BUG with the latest and greatest BUG Linux code and you meet the above criteria, then you may want the BUG Linux Kernel and Root Filesystem. To download the Kernel and Root Filesystem and get installation instructions, go to the Software Updates page.

Still Not Sure What You Need?
