Introduction

The FlickrUppr applications uploads a geo-tagged photo to your Flickr account when motion is detected.

Required BUG Modules

  • Camera - to retrieve an image
  • GPS – to retrieve geographical information
  • Motion – to detect motion
  • LCD – to display the flickr authentication user interface


Requirements

  • User must have a valid Flickr account.
    • If need be, please visit Flickr to create one
  • FlickrUppr must exist in your eclipse workspace

Instructions

Set Privacy and Permissions on your Flickr account:

In this section we will set up default preferences for photos uploaded to flickr; We need these settings for a successful upload.

  • Log into Flickr
  • Select Your Account

  • Select Privacy and Settings

  • Set a preference for “Who will be able to see where your photos were taken.”

Test drive the FlickrUppr

  • Launch the Virtual BUG

  • Install GPS, LCD, MOTION and CAMERA modules

  • Visit the link specified in the authentication window

  • Grant FlickrUppr permission to your account

  • Enter the mini token provided into the authentication window

  • Click “Authenticate”

  • Trigger a motion event by typing “motion” in the console view

  • Check your Flickr account
